How long does a misdemeaner stay on your record, and is there anyway to get it removed?

Re: Misdemeaners

Thank you for your inquiry. A misdemeanor is on your record until removed, for criminal prior purposes.

You can apply for an expungement, and Penal Code 1203.4 allows you to be "relieved of the burdens of conviction", after a minimum of one year.

I hope that this information answers your question, but if you need more information or feel that you need legal help, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. I'm happy to help answer your questions in any way that I can.

Re: Misdemeaners

A misdemeanor may be expunged if the court grants the motion, one year after you complete all probation terms, with no further arrests. Contact me if interested in getting it done.
