Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Misdemeanor Battery Dismissal

The DA has filed charges against me for misdemeanor battery (2 counts). My court date is in a couple of months. I was involved in a physical altercation at a party and was intoxicated. I don't even remember fighting. I wasn't arrested but the 2 girls pressed charges the next day. I feel so bad...I stopped drinking and going to AA voluntarily. I've also signed up for anger management. I'd like to present this in court to show my remorse and that I've taken responsibility for my actions. Would this help me get my case dismissed?

Re: Misdemeanor Battery Dismissal

Yes, it will help you, but don't expect to get your case dismissed. Prosecutors and courts are not in the business of filing criminal charges and then casually dismissing them. You'll need effective counsel to represent you and present the best possible defense and facts. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so, if the case is in SoCal.
