Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Misdemeanor erasing...

What do I need to do if i have a misdemeanor in my record for shoplifting and I want to erase it. I was told it can be done. I'm trying to become a citizen and that misdemeanor is keeping me from it. I'm a good member of society now and would like to clean up my shameful ways. Thank you and God bless...

Re: Misdemeanor erasing...

You file a Penal Code Section 1203.4 petition in the Court where the conviction occurred. Forms at the clerks office, they do charge a fee.

Re: Misdemeanor erasing...

I probably can be 'expunged' by appropriate 1203.4 motion and pleadings to the court. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing so and getting legal help.
