Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
If I have a misdemeanor for petty theft and my court date is set for June 14, 2011 and I just found out that I'll be traveling to Texas from California, will I be able to?

You must appear in court on June 14, 2010 or a warrant will be issued for your arrest. You have two choices, either appear personally or retain an attorney to appear for you on that date. You will probably have to return to California before the case is completed.

You miss that date, there will be an arrest warrant issued. Go to court asap and ask the matter to handled before or after your trip.
