Most likely he has a warrant. He needs to go to court, or have an attorney appear for him, to explain what happened and get the warrant recalled.

Of course he has a warrant, for his failure to appear. If he posted bail, it has been revoked. Now, he needs to appear in court, to request the warrant be recalled and the case set back on calendar. If he's lucky, and has a valid explanation, he'll probably only be fined on the FTA. Feel free to contact me if he's serious about defending the charges, but it sounds like he was 'playing attorney' for himself.

He probably does have a warrant. If he has an attorney the attorney may have asked the court to hold the warrant so the defendant could get back to court. Mant courts allow you to add youraelf on the calendar to recall the bench warrant and explain the judge what happened. If he had a bail bond he should talk to the bond agent to find out if they will re-assume the bond, otherwise when he failed to appear the bond was foefeited. The sooner he gets back on the calendar the better it looks to the judge.

Good luck,
