Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

the narcotics enforcement team came into my home stating they were there to conduct a probation search on my roommate. the police report states that they did a county records search and found that my roommate was on probation. now were they just running a check on the address or on the name? my question is did they act out of there normal scope of duties for an excuse to come in rather than get a warrant. i unferstand you give all that up when you agree to the the terms.i feel they just used that for an excuse. is there no hope for dismisall at the motions hearing

If you were on probation or parole, you have waived your 4th Amendment rights. The police don't have to have a reason or excuse to enter and search your residence or vehicle. If they find any contraband or illegal activity by anyone there, a seizure and arrest will be made. If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me. Ill be happy to help fight and get the best outcome possible, using whatever defenses and sympathies there may be.
