Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My neice is 19 years old and she was recently caught steeling jewelry from the people that she was baby sitting for and cleaning there home. I was wondering what I can do to help her from spending time in jail.

Hire her an attorney if criminal charges have already been filed against her. If they haven't, hire one anyway to try to negotiate a civil compromise that would prevent criminal charges from being filed. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me. I've been doing these cases for 35 years.
