Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My nephew, a Colorado resident, is being held on a fugitive warrant. He has court tomorrow - court case LAPDFUG, court code M30. When will he know if Colorado intends to extradite and how long can he be held in California? How long does Colorado have to extradite?

Such questions can only be intelligently answered by his attorney after learning the case facts. I'm assuming he needs the Public Defender, which he should be applying for immediately if he intends to fight extradition. If he is serious about hiring experienced criminal defense counsel, feel free to contact me at 714-960-7584. He can do that at any time prior to his extradition hearing if he contests it.
In general, a fugitive could be held for up to 30 days from CA arrest, pending extradition.
