do you have to open the door to the policeif your roomate is on probation but is not home?

It depends. Does your roommate have a search clause requiring him to allow the police to search his home?
If he does, you have to let them into the house when he isn't home. If you don't, you could be charged with obstructing an officer.
By living with someone who's on searchable probation, you lower your expectation of privacy in your home.
