outstanding warrant

last i stopped and told i had an outstanding in san diego calif. the warrant was issued 4/22/88 the irony of the matter is i was not living in san diego at that time , someone stole my idenity - what must i do to correct this -20 years laters

Go to the court that issued the warrant and show them ID and proof it isn't you. It's a tough sell, and you should consider hiring or at least consulting with an attorney to learn exactly what you need. If it is a misdemeanor, an attorney can appear for you.
