Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
overturning a conviction...
I plead ''no-contest'' to a misdomeaner charge of P.C. 273.5. I hired another lawyer to request from the judge to re-open the case and continue the trial process. The judge denied the request (I think because my lawyer was weak), the judge did however expunge my record, I need it to be completley taken off. Is there anything I can further do at this point?

No. Unless you timely filed an appeal, that process is gone. Expungement is the best you can get.

Assuming it is not late you can appeal the decision. A no contest plea should have been explained to you. I can probably make an argument for ineffective assistance of counsel.

It is impossible to answer your question without more facts. Did you actually go to trial? What is the date of your conviction? - just to name a couple of things anyone advising you would have to know.
Expungement of your record might make it more difficult for you to re-open your case.
Feel free to call me for a non-binding consultation.
