Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
paraphanelia charges
I was arrested for possesion of paraphanelia, the person I was arrested with had a warrant for not reporting to parole officer, he was looking at serving 9 years in prison if ever arrested for anything. He did not tell me this.... when i was questioned by police I said the truth as I knew it which was half of it was his and half of it was mine. After I stated this he was taken to jail and is now looking at 9 years.
I am being asked to go back in my statements and say that all of it was mine, what are the risks for me if I write this and give to the court?

Re: paraphanelia charges
Short answer is do not commit perjury of file a false report...they are crimes. "Whoever" is asking you is commiting a felony by asking (suborning perjury). Seems like it's time for new "friends"

I don't know which one of you is dumber, him for doing drugs at the risk of 9 years in prison or you for answering questions posed by police officers. Now you are "being asked" to change your story. Who exactly is doing the asking? I bet it is your former friend. If I were you I would keep my mouth shut and find another town to live in within, say, 9 years.

Ever hear the terms 'perjury' or 'making a false report to police'? Tell the truth and stick to it. Better yet, get a good attorney to speak for you, as most people convict themselves, as you just did, in 'cooperating' with the police. If you want to have an attorney help you dig out of the hole you are in, feel free to contact me.
