Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Pardon waiting .....
I was arrested in 1978 for sales of under 1 oz pot.I applied for pardon in 1992 and the request has been in the governors office waiting, everytime I call them they say to keep waiting. Is there anythig I can do about this ? My concern is background checks for employment.
Thanks,
John

Re: Pardon waiting .....
You should realize by now that you're NOT going to get a governor's pardon, few do. You can seek to expunge the record, which would then allow you to say 'no' to convictions. It may to possible to do so, as long as you weren't sentenced to prison instead of jail. Feel free to contact to discuss the facts and procedures if serious about clearing your record.
