Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Parole violation

My brother is on parole. He has some violations but nothing he has yet been taken in for (dirty test, etc.) His P.O. gave him the option of a 2-yr. drug program or prison.

After 2 months he left the program. He was given the chance to try to get back into the program by his P.O. His P.O. sent the police to pick him up today but he wasn't home. They asked my dad to take him in tomorrow. My brother doesn't want to do the 2-yr. program he wants to do the prison time instead, but he was told by his P.O. that the prison time has increased now. Are violations normally 60-90 days or can he get several years, like he was told. Or is his P.O. just trying to scare him?

Re: Parole violation

Sounds like his PO has already given him repeat chances, but reached the end of that road. Disregard of his parole terms can result in being sentenced to serious time. He'd better get an attorney and handle this properly. Feel free to have him contact me if interested in doing so., and the court is in SoCal.
