Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

A complaint was filed against me charging me with violation of section pc 487 a. This is my 1st time having any problrms with the law. How serious is this? And what should i do?

If convicted of this crime, future employment will be a challenge to say the least. Hire a lawyer for best results.
