Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

PC 487(a) Charge against me.

so on 9/30 the actual owner of a rental co. calls me up demanding that I return some so called stolen equipment that I supposedly sold from them under the table for personal profit. I told him that he was full of it and to not call me. On 10/ 01 the owner calls me again stating that '' they're finding all sorts of stuff on me and to give all his equipment back before 12 noon or he was calling the cops. I told him to stop harassing me, look at his own employees that work for him because everything that I sold for cash , check or c.c. was always turned in or large amounts of cash or checks were given directly to either the girls upstairs or directly to my boss. Also I told him that I haven't worked there for 2 months now and I don't know what type of crap has gone on since, and they could've changed anything on paper by now. The cops came at 3pm that day and took me to jail. friends of my wifes put up the 1000.00 to bail me out that night. So I get out at 5 am the next morning. Once I was home I started caling all my old employees that don't work there anymore to make statements & testify for me because now I'm facing a felony grand theft case. As if we didn't have enough problems with.Am I at risk?

Yes, absolutely you are at risk. You have been taken to jail once, and it very well could happen again. You need an attorney immediately. My office serves all of California. If you would like help please let me know at your earliest convenience.

You need a lawyer and an investigator to defend your case. Attempting to do it by yourself is likely to be ineffective or even backfire on you.

If you cannot afford private counsel, a public defender will be appointed for you.

Are you 'at risk'? Duh, you just stated that criminal charges are filed against you. I'd call that risk. Hire counsel to defend you if you want to minimize the chance of conviction. If this is in SoCal, feel free to contact me if you get serious about handling this.
