Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

penal code 273 a - a

We have an informal hearing coming up with city attorney for leaving our 2 small children alone for 15 mins. we got in trouble when the 4 yr old tried to call me but got an operator who called the police. we got back and the police were at our door. should we get an attorney? how much trouble are we in? we have no past history of abuse.

Unless you are rich and famous, this is L.A., and you risk losing custody of your kids, forever. Bring a lawyer.
