Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
In regards to Penal Code 2933.4 is it mandatory for someone to be made to go to a live in program AFTER completing their jail sentence when the after hour program was not part of their sentencing? If not, then how come the jail is stating that it is mandatory and how can someone get out of going to the program when the program is not in the county that the person resides. Going to the program would prevent this person from seeing their children and continuing their education after they have already completed one year of a two year certification.

What's mandatory is whatever the court orders you to do. If you don't like the terms of probation, don't agree to the deal. If you don't like a sentence received after trial, appeal.
