What is a person's legal right to the discovery packet? Also is it legal for an attorney to with hold evidence thAt the district attorney has against you?

A defendant has a 'right' to the evidence held by the DA, except as to confidential informant ID and protected witness info. If that is what your attorney is withholding, now you know. He should fully disclose and discuss with you all other case evidence, to do his job well as your 'partner' in the case.
