Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Petition for gun restiction re: mental illness
I'm a retired police officer from Michigan with a current permit to carry my gun in Michigan. I relocated back to California in 2003. In 1997, I burnt out emotionally from a 20 year marriage to a physician, and experienced a nasty divorce, which landed me in the hospital for emotioanl burnout. During my stay 2 male staff members made comments regarding raping and sodomizing me, since I no longer had anyone to look out for me. I made a complaint to the physician, who ignored me. I had an investigation started on personnel members including the physician. In retaliation, the physician submitted information which stated I was unfit to own a gun in the state of California. I have since returned, and went to register my gun which was purchased and legally being carried in Michigan. My gun is in Limbo at a California gun dealer, and per the justice dept, I was instructed to file a petition to have the Physicians order rescinded.Until then, my gun is being stored by a gun dealer in California, and I'm being charges storage fees daily.

Unfortunately, your petition will not be approved by the court. You had better sell the gun so you don't incur further storage fees.

Accomplishing that will be difficult at best, and costly. If you are willing to consider making the attempt, I will work with you. Contact me to discuss facts, proceedures and fees to be expected. I support the 2nd Amendment, so would like to help, but there are no guarantees in your case.
