When the store owner asked me about the item i realized what he was saying and looked for it on the shelf but i had put it in the bathroom when i went to help the old lady at his request. after he keept up telling me that i had other things i had taken and i opened my purse and there was a pair of sunglasses, so i gave then to him apologized for the mis hap and offered to pay for the ladys stuff she picked out. he started barking that i couldnt leave and blocked my eway of exit. i was so scarred that he was going to hurt me in some wauy so i found a back door. i told him that i wasnt trying to steal anything and to look into my purse and see for himself. he said he was calling the police. i was on my way out already . what is going to happen now. what should i do.

If you are being charged with a crime, as implied, then hire an attorney unless you know how to effectively represent yourself in court. You would be facing potential jail time, fines, restitution, probation, a record, etc. If this is in LA/OC area courts, and if you're serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
