Petty Theft/False police statement

I lied in a police statement about petty theft and trepassing and prowling. I being charged with all three misdemeanors. I turned myself in to try and help a friend stay at a University of California. I am having second thoughts now. SHould I tell the courts I lied and had nothing to do with the crime? What will the consequences of this be or what should I do?

You've got big problems friend. You either become a criminal by admitting to crimes you didn't commit, or become a criminal by admitting to perjury. You should get an attorney to work this out and minimize the damage and risks. Contact me if interested.
