Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Photographing Local Sporting events

I am starting a sports photography business ie shooting participants in local sporting events during games at local parks and recreation centers; Am I with-in the law by just showing up and shooting and offering the photos to the participants and family for purchase? Is there anything I should know before I start?

You might try wearing distinctive clothing, carrying business cards, and being very gracious with people who, for whatever reason, want their picture erased.

Start thinking about city business licences, consent and licensing agreements with the sporting organizations, photo purchase contracts for the customers, etc. Contact me if you need legal help.
