Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I am pleading not guilty to my charges of possession (xanax, vicodin) I have valid prescriptions for them. I also had half of a valium in my possession that was obtained at a pharmacy in mexico. I do not want to "plea bargain" when I am not guilty. It is the principal of it. My question is what do you think?? Spend my money and go to trial?? Or let them get the best of me and my money and my time with a plea bargain??? I'm a full timesingle mom and R.N., and I don't want to do classes or have probation!!! Not when I am innocent.

If you're an R.N. - a drug conviction will significantly impact your license with the BRN. I don't know what the plea bargain they're trying to offer you is, so there's no way to comment on whether or not it's a good deal, but I understand - you don't want to take a deal if you're not guilty.

I assume you're represented by counsel, since you've already been to court and have discussed plea deals. If you're not and are looking for an attorney that will do their absolute best to protect you, your rights and your license, give me a call.

What you want isn't going to determine the outcome, the evidence will. You've asked this a couple times now. Don't keep trying to find someone who will tell you what you want to hear. As indicated before, if you're interested in doing this right, and using whatever credible and admissible evidence you may have in your defense, feel free to contact me.

You say you "have" a prescription, but not that you had one at the time. If you obtained the prescription after the fact it won't help you. But even if you are innocent, you will need a lawyer to help you defeat the charges against you. As Mr. Dane and Mr. Nelson have explained, with so much at stake this is not something you should try on your own.
