Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Police Officers Laws for taking things questionable
Can you tell me what or if any thing happens to a Police Office who has been bringing things home such as small weapons, ID's personal items that belong to persons they may have arrested, or intended to arrest. But kept the small weapons they found on the person, such as knives, blades, shanks, Drivers License, swords, misc.? Are the police Officers allowed to keep this type of stuff? What would happen if I reported it to the Department this persons works at?????
Thank you

No, taking home things from suspects is not allowed. A report should cause an investigation and discipline.
