It sounds like you expect to be caught in such a sting. If that is the case, you should decline to answer any questions (other than those about your identity) until your lawyer is present. And you should retain a lawyer ahead of time so that he will be available when you need him.
"Said to"...?
If you are smart, nothing except through your attorney. The only response required at the time is for you to provide ID.
Whenever threatened, arrested or charged with any crime, what can you do? The best advice [if not already too late] is to exercise the 5th Amendment RIGHT to SHUT UP and do NOT talk to police or ANYONE about the details of the case except through an attorney. That includes on this or any other web site or public forum. Most police and prosecutors will happily tell you that 95% of people convict themselves by trying to be 'helpful and cooperative', either during initial contact, questioning, interview or interrogation. Hire an attorney, unless you know how to effectively represent yourself in court against a professional prosecutor intending to convict.
If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me.
I'm not following your question, but if you're being questioned by anyone, your response should be to respectfully decline to answer any questions until you consult with your attorney.
If you're being charged in court with some type of criminal offense, then you need a good criminal defense attorney that routinely practices in the court where your case will be heard.
Anything you say can AND WILL be used against you. Give them your name (not a false name) and the name of your attorney. If you don't have one hire one now and make sure he or she has experience in criminal cases.
