Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

posession of marijuana

I was in the house of a friend who got searched by the police department as a random search due to him being on probation. The police officers ordered us to go downstairs where they held us while the other officers searched his room. My purse was in the room, and they searched it. One officer came downstairs and asked me if he could search my things. I couldn't even respond before he told me that he had already searched it so it didn't matter anyway. There was a container with less than a gram of marijuana inside of the purse. The police officer wrote me a ticket for violation of section code 11357 (B). I have to appear in court in November and do not know what to do to get the charges to be dismissed or lowered.
