Re: poss controlled substance

1. You had bales, or boxcars, of whatever substance.

2. You have some other charge tacked on.

Please feel free to call me and discuss. I'm here to help.

Re: poss controlled substance

The statute of limitations om a felony possession charge is three years.

That bail is crazy unless you have strikes or something elso on your record. There's the possibility it was just a typo - one too many zeroes and it should have been 25,000.

Re: poss controlled substance

In California the Statute of limitations that applies to a felony charge of Possession of a controlled substance would be three years.

The bail amount does not make sense. It is extremely high and unless there are other charges or some enhancements or prior violent felony convictions in your past I am at a loss as to why it is so high. Unless you are in Federal court. If you are in federal court it is an entirely different set of rules and the bail amount might make sense if the possession charge was possession for sale or connected with a trafficking charge. However, if you are in State Court I do not know why the bail is so high. Good Luck

Re: poss controlled substance

It doesn't matter why the bail is high. Speculating on it doesn't change it. What matters is how and on what grounds your attorney can apply for reduction, based upon the facts and law available. Focus on what matters, and on how to achieve it. Like filing appropriate motions if there are grounds for them regarding bail reduction, or dismissal for statute of limitations. If serious about getting counsel and doing this right, and if the case is in SoCal, feel free to contact me.
