Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

possesion of meth

If I was busted with a small amount of meth and the d.a. is charging me with a felony, can my attorney at the pre-lim ask the judge to reduce the charge to a misdemeanor based on the amount?

Sure. You can ask for anything you like. Unless you have appropriate legal and factual grounds for reduction [and "I want it" doesn't count as such], I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it though. You're asking the wrong attorneys here. Our free handy hints here on this site don't constitute legal advice, and your own attorney should be answering your questions.
