Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
If I am in possession of a vehicle that is reported stolen, and I was on camera driving away in it even though i had permission to use it, if I return the vehicle what is the likelihood of a warrant being active after the owner gets it back?

If it was reported by the owner as stolen, then the owner has already told police and DA you did not have 'permission'. Returning it immediately might help you when you do appear in court on the criminal charges and the warrant that has already been issued. Get yourself a good attorney. You can consult and hire an experienced criminal defense attorney, like one of us on this panel, to represent you and. try to negotiate with the DA to resolve this before it gets to court.
