Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Pro Bono

I have spent hours upon hours looking on the internet for attorneys that do criminal cases pro-bono. And I have not been able to come up with one who takes pro-bono cases. How would I find a pro-bono criminal attorney in my area?

You won't. That is what Public Defenders are for. Go apply.

The public defender will represent a criminal defendant who can't afford to hire a private attorney. If the PD has a conflict, the court will arrange for another lawyer to represent the defendant at public expense. (Some counties have multiple public defender offices to handle conflict cases.)
