Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Probation and Parole

A person has violated their probation in MO and has been

sentenced and incarcerated there but is now ready for

probation. They have been told they can do their probation

in their home state of CA because they have family and

support there and none in MO. They're waiting on approval

from CA. How long does it usually take for CA to give

approval and are there reasons it would be denied? It was

a non-violent crime involving robbery.

Re: Probation and Parole

IF you have actually applied to the court and probation dept in CA, then call them to inquire. IF you haven't applied, there will be quite a wait. There is no obligation of CA to accept the probation, and frequently they decline for 'overwork' reasons. If you are trying for SoCal probation, and if you want to hire counsel to help, contact me.
