Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

How do I proceed?

I had a deer tag for zone B and knowingly shot a deer in zone C. I was caught and have been charged with FG 2000, FG 2016, FG 4330, FG 4336 & FG 1052(A). I have to schedule a date for arraignment before Jan 26. What do I need to do to help myself? I don't know how to plead because I don't think I'm guilty of all the charges. Is it better to plead ''no contest'' just to get it over with? Should I get a lawyer or see a public defender? I have never been in any other trouble - not even a traffic ticket. How will this impact my future? If you can give me some guidance I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

Hire counsel and follow their advice, or at least go have a consultation. Do not plead guilty or no contest [which is the same thing] unless you know all the consequences and penalties you face. Call your local Lawyer Referral Service or get recommendations from locals.
