Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Hello. The purpose of a pretrial is to allow the DA and Defense attorney come to some type of settlement without the requirement of a jury trial. If a settlement has not been offered to the defense attorney, does that mean that the DA does not want to settle and wants to go straight to trial? There has been 4 pretrials and a 5th one is scheduled next month. Thank You

You've now posted essentially the same question three times in less than thirty minutes. I strongly suggest you contact your attorney tomorrow and make an appointment to discuss your case.

Your lawyer should have reviewed the available evidence and spoken with the District Attorney. He or she is in a much better position to discuss the progress of your case than a stranger on the Internet who knows nothing about the facts of the case or discussions your lawyer may have had with the DA.

Yes, pretrials are for arranging a deal. No, the DA doesn't have to offer one. If you need to hire legal counsel, do so now before the next hearing, as you face trial it sounds like. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
