How does an attorney defend a client against penal code 484b? I was an officer of corp. and buisness simply went out of buisness. We didn't file BK. Certian clients didn't get work performed that gave money. Now I'm personally being charged with 484b, 487 and a couple other buisness and professions code violations. Help??

Re: Another Question
The attorney you retain will gather all the facts and formulate a strategy for defending you.
Your job right now is to carefully select an attorney and make sure you retain the attorney sufficiently in advance of your court date so that the attorney will be available on that date.
At the arraignment, you will enter a plea of not guilty, and your attorney will be handed a packet of documents containing the charges and probably some of the evidence they think they have on you. At that point the attorney will request discovery from the district attorney, and he or she will be better able to give you an idea of the probability that you would be convicted at a trial, and of any plea bargain offer that the DA might make.
