Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Hi! I received a failure to appear many many years ago due to civil suit. I am applying to be a police officer. Will this show up on my background check?

Unlikely, but why wonder about it? You can easily request your own record from DOJ and know for sure.

Yes. If it is on your record, it will appear unless the court never processed it. Applying for PD usually requires you volunteer every detail of your history. Fail to do so and be discovered, will generally result in instant disqualification or termination if already hired.
