Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have received a vocational nursing certificate. I plan on applying to local hospitals; however, I have a criminal background, which has already been expunged. Do I have to disclose my criminal background when applying to local non government hospitals (eg. Kaiser).

The application will likely tell you that you must disclose, and you legally must for any job requiring licensing, such as medical, teaching, child care, etc. That is because the law bans some convictions from employment, and the employer needs to know yours, to determine if it applies. Expungement does not change that.
