Recently caught for a petty theft of $40. Officer charged with Misdemeanor.

Will they put me in Jail or just some fine and community services?

just last month i got arrest for going out with a minor and had sex with

her. but since i was 17 wen i started going out with her but i was 18 wen we

had sex they dropped all the charges. i went to see the DA and he jus gave

me a warning that for a year im not supposed to commit the same

offense.after that no charges has been filed.

now that i got this petty theft problem and i hav to go to the court soon. r

they gonna open that case again??r they gonna added it to the offense that i

just committed??

im willing to pay a fine.. or do communitty service.. but i dont wanna go to

jail coz i just started going to college.. and i wanna hav a good future.. i

jus got tempted wen i stole frm the store coz im really broke.. i had to pay

for the attorney we hired wen we talked to the DA and pay for the college

expenses.. my parents dont help me at all..

im hoping the everything will be ok...

Re: help

Talk to your lawyer about whether the first sex case could come up now.

As far as the petty theft goes, that in itself is not going to put you in jail. However, you should fight at all cost to have it dismissed somehow - either through what is called a diversion or at the very least have it reduced to an infraction. Having theft related convictions, even if misdemeanors, on your record creates employment problems down the line.

Talk to your lawyer.

Re: help

Ask the attorney you hired. That's what you hired him for. Only he can give you legal advice, knowing all the facts, and having an Attorney/Client relationship with you. All you can get here is general information and guidance.
