You should talk to a lawyer, not to your former bosses. Anything you say to the people you used to work for can be used as evidence against you in your criminal case. Talking to them is unlikely to make things better for you, and is quite likely to make them worse instead.
Let an attorney handle the deal if one is to be made. Unfortunately, the crime occurred whether you pay your company back or not. You will need to arrange a deal that the District Attorney and Court will have to agree to first if you are hoping to have the charges dropped. Good luck to you.
With a court date pending, you should hire an attorney immediately, unless you are competent and experienced in handling criminal defense matters. Your attorney will probably try to negotiate a formal 'civil compromise agreement' which he will try to use to your benefit in dealing with the prosecutor. His goal will be to get the charges dismissed, or reduced because of your good faith actions and taking responsibility for the crime. If serious about getting such legal help, feel free to contact me. By the way, I do not suggest you try to negotiate with the company yourself, for fear you will 'screw up' the situation for the attorney.
