Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Recieving stolen property

I was arrested and at the station i was called out of my cell to speak to about 7 officers all wearing street clothe. I was intimidated by so many officers, and they kept asking me questiones and questions i felt like i had to be honest since they told me i was only going to help myself..... Well it's been about 6 mths and now the officers are filling against me and using my statment to incriminate myself. Can they do this????? I have not been charged up untill now and this was my first offense.
