Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
what do you recommend in this case?
My 18 years old daughter sold a bottle of alcohol to a teenager boy and forgot to ask him for a ID at grocery story which she is working there, but she got a citation right away because a police saw it. Now she is nervous and having more pressure on herself. Such as crying a lot and could not sleep well at night. My question are: what is going on when we appeal at the court? Do we need to hire a lawyer? Does any bad happening will affect her life?

Re: what do you recommend in this case?
She had better be discussing all this with the store management, to see if they are going to provide an attorney and defense to her. If not, yes, she should hire her own attorney, unless she knows how to practice law already. She faces potential fines and jail time, although if handled correctly by counsel, it shouldn't be too bad, assuming this is her first arrest. If this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me if she needs legal help.
