Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
remove from records??
When I was 20 years old, I stole a cooked chicken from a Safeway store. I was caught and spent 4 days in jail. Of course, it is now on my record as a petty theft crime. I was being a stupid idiot, rebelling everything. I am 25 years old and trying to get my life going in the right direction. Recently, I was refused a job because of this crime. Is there anything I can do to get this removed from my records?

Re: remove from records??
Yes, it probably can be expunged upon proper petition and motion to the court under PC 1203.4, as long as you completed all terms of your probation, and weren't convicted again since. Feel free to contact me for legal help doing so.

Assuming either..you did not get probation, or you finished probation, you can file a 1203.4 petition with the Court where the conviction occurred and expunge the conviction. The Court clerk has the forms.
