can this be removed
I have friend who 35 years ago of back when ..got picked up for indecent exposure now they say hes to register as if he is a sex offender for life .. is this correct ..this was back in the streakin days ..or can this be removed ..so every person who did streakin back when has to register as a sex offender ?

Depending upon the actual charges he was convicted of, he may or may not be required to register. But, why is this just now coming up? If it is just him asking about it, the answer is probably 'no' if he wasn't ordered to at the time. If the court or police or probation are now telling him to register, then he needs to fight it. Tell him to feel free to contact me if serious about doing so.

Yes, in theory, anyone could be forced to register even if the crime happened long time ago.
That said, I am not sure of the top of my head whether simple indecent exposure requires lifetime registration. Also, the requirement can be challenged, especially in old cases where court files could be missing and the government/prosecution could have problems proving the exact nature of the conviction or whether it happened at all.
This is a serious matter and your friend needs to invest in a good lawyer to make a full scale investigation of all possible options. I personally had success in stopping registration requirements and removing people from the Megan's Law website. Often, when the conviction is old and not among the most serious, it can be done.
