Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
trying to get RN
Hi ~ two years ago I was arrested for petty theft. I am trying to get my RN license. The misdemeanor was reduced to an infraction and a small fine was involved. First offense. If I got this expunged, what are my chances to sit for the RN boards/get a job in a hospital?
Thank you for your time.

Re: trying to get RN
Talk to the licensing agency now, you have to disclose the conviction on government licensing applications, whether expunged or not. You might as well know if you are disqualified from licensing before you put in any time and effort.
You should do the expungement, regardless, as it allows you to say 'no' on normal employment applications. Contact me if interested in doing so.
