Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Sealing Criminal Record
Is an exspongement the same as having your record sealed? If they differ, what are the requirements and the procedures for each? I am interested in sealing / erasing / exsponging a convinction of 18 days for check fraud.

Re: Sealing Criminal Record
It would be very difficult and unlikely to get it sealed without 'good cause', which is not 'I want it'.
You can likely get it expunged, which will allow you to say 'no' to conviction questions on most private employment applications. If there was no 'state prison' time sentenced [even though you served jail], if you successfully completed all terms of probation, if you have no new charges, and if you're serious about getting the legal help you'll need, feel free to contact me.
