Is a search legal if officers from a police department many miles outside of one county, red light a vehicle, search it, then take the driver into custody and arrest them back in their city. Is the fruits of their search suppressible?

Even if I did tell you it is 'illegal', what do you plan on doing with that opinion? Waive a print out at the DA? You need counsel, not anonymous opinion. Feel free to contact me if serious about defending this. There may be defenses, depending upon the facts, but counsel can present them better than a pro per who will get no 'professional courtesy' from the prosecutor.

Re: Search

Based on the limited information you have provided, I don't see a problem. If police only had authority within their own cities then suspects could escape just by driving across a city line. Such a rule would not serve the interests of justice.

Your question is vague about how the police ended up in the other county in the first place. It's possible that the explanation would reveal an argument you could make in your defense.
