Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was sentenced on a misdemeanor charge, but did not turn myself in to jail. The judge forfeited my bail bond. Isn't my bond automatically exonerated once sentenced?

Nice try. No brass ring. You now face an arrest warrant, probably with 'no bail' on the Failure To Appear criminal charge now against you, and you face an unhappy bondsman that is going to pursue you to collect the full face amount of the bond that you forfeited by your failure to appear. Your payment to him was likely 10%. He now is going to get the other 90% from you. Your only hope is to turn yourself into court before you get arrested by police or the bondsman, and TRY to get the court to withdraw the bond forfeiture as part of your plea bargain on the new FTA charges.
