Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Sexual Harassment against a minor

Hi, I know someone who is 17 years

old and works part time at a furniture

store. She started working there

when she was 16 and told me that 2

months after she was hired, an

employee started harassing her and

actually tried to sexually assault her.

She never told anyone but me and

didn't quit her job

because she threatened him with

calling the police and his harassment

ceased, yet recently he began texting

her and trying to contact her again.

She still has some of the text

messages and there are also some

witnesses. Does she have enough

evidence to file a lawsuit,is

there a time frame within she has to

do it, and what would most likely be

the severity and outcome of doing

that?

Re: Sexual Harassment against a minor

Feel free to have your friend call my office to discuss her case. We would need to discuss in detail whether she has a strong case of sexual harassment.

OF course there are 'time frames' called statutes of limitations. She still has time since the conduct is ongoing. She has to prove her case through witnesses and documents, which it sounds like she has. Have her contact me if serious about pursuing this.

Re: Sexual Harassment against a minor

She should have an attorney review the evidence she has to see if she has a strong enough case.
