Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I shoplifted some beer from a store( only $15 worth) and was caught . I remember having to pay a civil penalty of 575 dollars or in that range. It has been over three years since and i was denied employment recently due to my criminal record. Isthere any way to expunge this Felony Shoplifting Conviction from my record? Why is this a felony?

Yes, but I doubt it was a felony; probably a misdemeanor. If actually a felony, it can be still be expunged, just with a little more effort. Expungement will allow you to say 'no' to conviction on most private employment applications. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting the legal help you'll need.
