Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
shoplifting in Nordstrom, CA
I caught in shoplifting for $160.00 in Nordstom, north California. I really don't know why I did so.
Look, I started shopping on 1st floor first and selected some items, put them in Nordstrom shopping bag (I found empty bag in big box in of bags closed to shoes department) and then went to 2nd floor having in my mind that I'll make decision after 2nd floor shopping (buy it or not.)
So I selected other items on 2nd floor and PAID for them, totally forgotten about my unpaid bag from the 1st floor...(I spend on the second floro about 1,5 hours) and went our of the store. Security got me and told that they taped it, I tried explained to them that i just forgot about one unpaid box and they knew that I did pay for my other 2 bugs but they still didn't believe me and called for police.
So cop came, took my information and finger prints and gave me paper to appear in the court.
I believe I need your consulatation with criminal defense attorney....BTW I really want to know what kind of punishment should I expect (this is my first time) and what to do to reduce one?
Thanks in advance, looking forward for your reply,
